The Greater Memphis Auto Dealers Association and Moore Tech to Host Groundbreaking of New Joint Automotive Technician School in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN, MAY 23, 2018: The Greater Memphis Auto Dealers Association (GMADA) and Moore Tech are hosting a groundbreaking for their new joint automotive technician school on Tuesday, May 29 at 10 AM at 2785 South Mendenhall Road, Memphis, TN 38115. The school will be named “Moore Tech Automotive Technician School” and will be operated by Moore Tech in a facility owned by GMADA.

The School will be a state of the art educational facility and students will be taught the skills needed to secure full-time automotive technician careers. Students will graduate with a two-year Associates Degree and the opportunity to earn ASE Student Certification in eight ASE categories.

“The Greater Memphis Auto Dealers Association is extremely proud to be breaking ground on this joint project with Moore Tech as the graduates of this program will directly provide Greater Memphis Automotive Dealerships with the qualified technician candidates that are very much in demand.” Said Kent Ritchey, President, GMADA.

Founded in 1916, GMADA is comprised of more than 50 new-car dealerships in Greater Memphis and has a rich history of economic growth and community partnership. Members of GMADA employ over 3,000 people and the participating dealerships sell over $3 Billion in automobiles and services annually.

Moore Tech was founded in 1909 with a grant from the William R. Moore family, and has operated continually since 1939. The college is a private, non-profit and currently offers six programs including HVAC, Machining, Plumbing, Industrial Electricity, Building Maintenance, and Welding.
